This class is an Introduction to Forensic Video Analysis using Ocean Systems dTective powered by Avid Systems. Students will be introduced to the Avid video editing interface and explore the dTective forensic modules. In addition, strategies for proper video evidence collection and digital video evidence recovery will be discussed. Topics will include: basic editing techniques, capabilities and use of the dTective forensic modules, analog and digital video evidence recovery procedures, media management and final output methods for court.

The learning environment consists of lectures and hands-on exercises designed to allow the student to become familiar with the dTective system while working on real cases. Each student will receive a manual with detailed information pertaining to all topics discussed in class.
